This light weight version of our ATHR rifle is designed to be as light and ergonomic as possible for use in the high country. This version features the revolutionary Alluminium Sleeved Barrel Technology from Lothar Walther. By turning a match barrel blank down to a very light sporter profile and then fitting an outer sleeve of construction grade alluminium LW deliver a barrel that has the outer contours of a varmint or sniper profile barrel but weighs less than a standard sporter barrel. This technology achieves the same goals as carbon wrapping of barrels but delivers better more repeatable accuracy. The GPH-Mountain also features a light weight rifle composite stock and the Avenger II action is lightened. To save weight the MTHR is fitted with an Alluminium bolt shroud and uses a trigger blocking safety catch rather than the Secura 3 Possition safety catch found on the standard ATHR rifle.
